Sitting lazily on the rolling hills,
Green fields and grassy knolls.
Sparkling waters so peaceful and still,
Nestled gently in natures fold.
Sunshine and flowers in full bloom,
Pastels, blonde rouge and lime.
Candy for the eyes.
Oblivious to time.
Colours in the sky above,
Rainbows, red green and blue.
Silver glints off your finger,
A pretty thing for you.
I see your face and watch you smile,
Content that you are too.
But if I should run out of pretty things,
I fear what will I do?
What if you look beneath the grass,
And see that there is dirt.
Would it frighten you my love?
I don’t want you to get hurt.
What if you looked above the skies,
So peaceful so calm and nice.
What if you saw straight into space,
Dead, lonely, and cold as ice.
My poor little sweetheart,
I do not want to see you cry,
So next time I’ll ignore,
If you should implore and ask me “why?”
Please understand, the better it’s for..
‘Cause if you saw beneath the dirt,
(It helps the pretty stuff grow)
And if you saw beneath the rocks,
(not the kind made of gold)
What if you saw the raging fire,
What if you saw below?
What would you say if you saw where we sit?
Upon a molten inferno.
“Oh no!”
So come in my arms and forget all those things,
You need not worry yourself.
It’s bad for your composure,
That you should gain disclosure,
And probably bad for your health.
All you need to do,
If you should feel fright,
Look deeply into my eyes,
Any time of day or night,
There you will be safe,
Everything will be alright..
So, what if you stay in the sun too long,
And are burned by its heavenly rays?
And what if you knew there were spiders and snakes,
Lurking in the cool of the shade?
My love I do not want you to be scared,
You know my love is true,
So I won’t ever say it,
And that’s good ‘cause I don’t want to..
You will never have to hear the words,
Even though it is the truth..
Just stay happy, and don’t understand..
